Since 2001, tesa SE (4,917 employees) has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Beiersdorf AG (which includes brands such as NIVEA, Eucerin and la prairie).
Products and solutions for various industrial sectors – such as automotive, the electronics sector (e.g. smartphones, tablets), the printing and paper industry, building materials and security features for effective brand and product protection – generate around 76% of tesa Group sales (2018: 1,342.8 million). tesa also cooperates with the pharmaceutical industry in the development of medicinal patches. 24% of tesa’s sales are attributable to the consumer and professional segment, for which 300 consumer products facilitate work at home and in the office.

The product range for the automotive industry includes tesa tapes for the secure fastening of vehicle parts. Durable, secure connections are all the more important because the components and parts of the various types of transportation are constantly under static and dynamic stress. Particularly noteworthy in this assortment category are the double-sided tapes, which are excellently suited to affixing various plastic parts on the interior and exterior of the vehicle (e.g. door sill strips, roof and window trim, parking sensors, spoilers).
Tesa tapes for home appliance manufacturers
The extensive product range also includes products for manufacturers of household appliances. The tesa tapes are used to fasten household appliances, among other things:
- the control panels for washing machines,
- freezer coils,
- protective bumpers for in-store refrigerated counters,
- name plates,
- decorative strips and emblems with company logos.
In the production process for household appliances, tesa tapes are also used to cover gaps and joints during polyurethane foam injection and to mask openings.
