INSULATION

INSULATION

Mica Solutions
Mica is a natural mineral known for its ability to easily disintegrate into thin, flexible sheets. Mica belongs to a group of minerals with similar physical and chemical properties.
Composition: mica is a group of silicates with a complex chemical structure. The most common types of mica are muscovite (white mica) and biotite (black mica).

Mica is often used in insulations due to its exceptional insulating properties, especially in electrical and thermal insulation. Mica insulation is widely used in a variety of industries, including electrical engineering and electronics manufacturing.
Here is some key information about mica insulation:

In summary, mica insulation is irreplaceable in many industrial applications where high thermal and electrical resistance is required. Its versatility and exceptional properties make it one of the most important insulation materials on the market.
Types of Mica / Mikanite
Typ HP-5/F-2 i M-2 wg PN-EN 60371-3-3
Micanite is an electrical insulating material obtained by pressing muscovite (M) or phlogopite (F) mica paper coated with silicone resin at an elevated temperature.
Micanite of the HP-5 and M-2 types is designed for insulating electrical heating elements. During use, the silicone resin can be completely removed giving a material that requires support but can withstand temperatures up to 500oC when using muscovite mica paper (Type M-2) or up to 700oC when using phlogopite mica paper (Type HP-5/F-2).
Standard plate sizes: 950mm x 950m
Thicknesses produced: from 0.3mm to 10mm
- dielectric strength of 20 kV/mm
- mica content over 85%
- density 2,2±0,3 g/cm3
Typ PMS wg PN-EN 60371
MIKANIT PMS is an electrical insulating material obtained by pressing at an elevated temperature mica paper saturated with silicone resin and reinforced with glass fabric. Flexible micanite reinforced with glass fabric meets the requirements: PN-EN 60371
Glass fabric-reinforced flexible micanite is designed for insulating cylindrical-shaped components in electrical equipment such as induction furnaces. During use, the silicone resin can be completely removed giving a material that requires support, but can withstand temperatures up to 700°C.
Standard plate sizes: 950mm x 950m
Thicknesses produced: from 0.3mm to 1mm
Key technical parameters:
- nominal grammage 900 g/m2
- dielectric strength 20 kV/mm
- mica content over 75%
- resin content 15%
- density 2,0 g/cm3
