AU2004-6

3M™ Thinsulate™ AU2004-6 Tackle Noise. Tailor Precision. Partner with the Experts.

3M™ Thinsulate™ Acoustic Insulation AU2004-6 is a high-performance acoustic nonwoven mat that delivers powerful noise reduction in both vehicle interiors and exterior components. With its optimal mix of 62% polypropylene and 38% polyester fibers, this material combines excellent energy absorption with low weight and structural integrity.

The white polyolefin scrim protects the fiber structure while embossing on both surfaces increases abrasion resistance and adhesive bonding strength. Hydrophobic and non-linting, the AU2004-6 is ideal for applications exposed to humidity, where long-term performance and cleanliness matter.

Applications – Where to Use AU2004-6

  • Interior Automotive Components
Door panels, headliners, instrument panels, pillar trim, package trays

  • Exterior Automotive Applications
Bumper liners, wheel arch covers, underbody shields

  • Trunk & Luggage Areas
Reduce road noise and vibration for improved passenger experience

  • Industrial & Machinery Insulation
HVAC units, compressors, engine compartments, appliance panels
