 Thinsulate™ AU2002-5

3M™ Thinsulate™ Acoustic Insulation AU2002-5

3M™ Thinsulate™ Acoustic Insulation AU2002-5 is a lightweight, high-performance nonwoven mat designed to absorb sound across a wide range of automotive interior and exterior applications. Built from a carefully engineered blend of ultra-fine polypropylene and durable polyester fibers, it provides high energy absorption and long-term resilience without unnecessary bulk.

The AU2002-5 features a white polyolefin scrim on one side for fiber protection, and both surfaces are embossed for enhanced abrasion resistance and scrim bonding. It’s compressible, non-linting, and hydrophobic – making it ideal for humid environments and areas requiring long-lasting acoustic performance.

Where AU2002-5 Makes an Impact

  • Interior Automotive Components
Door panels, headliners, instrument panels, pillar trims, package trays

  • Exterior Vehicle Zones
Bumper liners, wheel arch covers, trunk and underbody areas

  • Luggage Compartments & Cargo Insulation
Reduce road noise, absorb vibrations, and enhance passenger comfort

  • Industrial Enclosures & Panels
Machines, HVAC systems, and equipment housings with acoustic control needs
