3M metal backed tapes

Depending on the metal used in the carrier, these tapes are divided into:

  • 1) Aluminum tapes: are characterized by high resistance to fire, moisture, weather and most chemicals, conduct heat very well, so they increase the efficiency of heating and cooling, but also reflect heat and light. This group includes the following tapes:

    • 425: the most versatile tape on acrylic adhesive,
    • 431: easy to lay on the surface tape has acrylic adhesivel

  • 2) Lead tapes: these products conduct electricity, do not pass X-rays and are resistant to acids. This group includes:

    • 420: tape on rubber adhesive, used for specialized masking in electroplating processes

  • 3) Aluminum tape reinforcers: they are used to wrap flexible tubes and wires to protect them from fire and high temperatures. They are highly resistant to tears and punctures:

    • 363: aluminum-coated glass fabric on silicone adhesive, has a very high temperature resistance of 315 degrees
    • 363L: aluminum-coated glass fabric on silicone adhesive with extra liner, features very high temperature resistance at 315 degrees
